As I Jump on the Twilight Bandwagon ...

I stumbled across a Twilight book last week and decided to take a stab at understanding this whole vampire thing. To my surprise, as I started reading -- I quickly found myself intrigued with every aspect of the book. (I know vampires aren't real, but imagine if they were?) I was mesmerized by Bella and Edward and their level of love and affection for one another. Do people really feel that way about one another? Can they? Is it possible? Being so... over the top in love with someone (and to know that he isn't even a human?)

Okay, so like many other Twilight fans, I became (just shy of) obsessed with this book. I was able to feel the characters, picture their life, and be a part of the story. Before I knew it, I was 500 pages deep and quickly finished with the book (thank goodness there are 3 more).

So I went to Blockbuster last night to rent Twilight (Yes, blockbuster is still in existence -- as of right now), volunteered my sister to spend a couple hours on the couch with me and sat down to watch this great vampire, love story.

FAIL. FAIL. FAIL. FAIL.

Are these people serious?

I know the movie is never as good as the book and I wasn't expecting it to be, but where is the story line? Where is the passion? Where is the convincing love and affection?

Scenes cut in half, important details left out (that couldn't be left to the imagination), choppy plots, etc.

I couldn't help but be entirely disappointed. Thank goodness I read the book first. If you haven't jumped on the Twilight bandwagon and are considering doing so in the near future, I highly recommend not watching the movie first (or at all).
